run away, join circus, ???, profit!

The job market is shit and you [generalized you, bluh bluh, asking for a friend etc] have no real marketable skills to bring to the job industry table but your current job is frustrating you from so many angles a jump into traffic, the heroin diet, going deaf, and/or drinking most waking hours sounds like an excellent plan. You have a degree but it’s an AS from a trade school. You have, maybe, a year experience in retail, and it was a long time ago. You kind of hate everyone and suffer the sads in a medically diagnosed capacity. The job you has pays only decently and the above mental stress is enough to make you more realistically look for a job that doesn’t make you want to drive spikes through your eyes or the eyes of those around you. Wat do, Helpy? Wat do.

Well, the most important thing is to find out whether your medical sads are sufficient that you can get away with driving spikes through peoples’ eyes, because if they are, you should be making that list.  And it is understandable that you have limited retail experience; if you only “kinda” hate everyone, you won’t fit in well in a retail environment.

Really, though, the problem is that you are approaching this from the wrong side. The question is not whether you have marketable skills; the question is, given the skills you have, how can you market them?  For instance, take “kinda hate everyone”.  Why, who wouldn’t want to hire a thoughtful and stable person who “is not easily taken in by false friendliness?”  Medical sads?  “Able to find the flaws in overly-optimistic plans.”  Limited retail experience?  “Quickly learned the available lessons from retail work and committed to applying them more productively elsewhere.”  (Lesson:  You hate retail.  Application:  Avoid retail.)

Now go make yourself a big bowl of your favorite breakfast cereal, and watch some cartoons.
